Before I started this assignment, I thought my name was simple and spelled uniquely, because it was spelled with a "u" instead of an "e" like Amber.
My parents had a really hard time deciding on what to name me. For the first month of my life they called me "Baby Girl". Finally, after a month they chose Ambur. I think my parents chose this name for me because it was easy for my uncle to say and it wasn't too hard to remember, they just liked the name for me.
After searching for the meaning of my name here, I learned that my name is often known as a gem or mineral. Some other interesting things I learned are that my name is typically used as a boys name and Ambur is an old English name. I also learned that the name of Ambur indicates someone who is a diligent and persevering worker who enjoys a routine occupation where you can do a job well and finish what you start - that's me! I also learned that people who are named Ambur like to work at their own speed, without pressure, as they prefer to take your time to work step by step in their own way.
I think my name does suits me because I am a hard worker and I like to work at my own speed. I hate it when people try to rush me. I do things my own way.
If I could give myself a new name, it would be Tia because I think that it would go well with my middle and last name "Tia Meria Henry-Murphy". My mom was going to name me Tia Meria, but she thought that it sounded too much like a drink - before it was a drink.
